Pre-Procedure Guidelines

The skin on the upper lip is delicate and requires special care before laser treatment. To prepare for your session and ensure a smooth, comfortable experience, please follow these steps:

✅ 1 Week Before Treatment
Avoid sun exposure and tanning: Even a light tan can increase sensitivity and the risk of pigmentation.

Do not wax, thread, or pluck the area: These methods remove the hair follicle, which the laser targets. Shaving is acceptable.

Discontinue use of active skincare in the area: Avoid retinol, acids (AHAs/BHAs), bleaching agents, or any exfoliants.

✅ 24–48 Hours Before Treatment
Gently shave the upper lip: Use a clean facial razor to trim the hairs so the laser can target the root without burning surface hair.

Keep the area clean and product-free: No makeup, creams, or serums.

✅ Day of Treatment
Arrive with freshly cleansed skin: No lipstick, lip balm, sunscreen, or facial products on or around the lip.

Let us know if you’ve had any recent breakouts, cold sores, or facial treatments: We’ll assess if it’s safe to proceed.

Post Procedure Guidelines

Mild redness or sensitivity is normal immediately after your session. Here’s how to care for your skin and keep results optimal:

✅ Immediately After Treatment (First 24–48 Hours)
Avoid heat: Skip hot drinks, saunas, intense workouts, and hot showers for 24 hours.

Skip makeup and lip products: Avoid applying anything to the area for at least 12–24 hours post-treatment.

No picking or touching the area: Let the skin heal naturally to avoid irritation or dark marks.

Use cold compresses if needed: A soft, clean towel with cool water can soothe any warmth or redness.

✅ 3–5 Days Post-Treatment
Continue avoiding actives and exfoliants: Let the skin rest before resuming any retinol, acids, or brightening products.

Apply a gentle moisturizer or doctor-recommended soothing product: If prescribed, follow our in-house aftercare protocol.

✅ Ongoing Care
Use sunscreen daily—even indoors: UV exposure (even through windows) can darken healing skin. Choose a physical or mineral sunscreen for best protection.

Be consistent with sessions: Hair grows in cycles. Multiple treatments spaced weeks apart are needed for full, lasting results.
